Phong Nha – Ke Bang is belong to Ke Bang, Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, located about 50km north-west from the center of Dong Hoi city.
Phong Nha Cave become one of the most famous attractions of Quang Binh. Phong Nha Cave was named the most wonderful cave of south Vietnam.
Phong Nha Cave is the wet cave with underground river. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the front cave entrance after going on the Son river flow. Nature has been grandiose and surprise you once hovered over the river Son. Flanked by majestic mountains, lush trees, it deserves a recognized as a world natural heritage by UNESCO. Phong Nha cave has trapezoidal entrance, just over 10 meters height, with a width from 25cm to about 30cm. The more you go deep inside, visitors have a feeling cool atmosphere different from the hot of the land air wind just outside the entrance. Weathering process at Phong Nha took place 250 million years ago. Phong Nha is only shaped terrain and mountainous limestone soil, the height is about 600m altitude. Phong Nha Cave has a narrow and steep cliffs. The total area of Phong Nha is about 10 000km2 predicted, extending over 200 kilometers up to northern of Truong Son, and direction throughout Laos. Phong Nha Cave possesses a underground river, go through the Son River, Trooc River, Chay River, Rao Thuong River and comes from the small streams. The water crept to the En cave before flowing deep into the limestone, forming caves as large as today.
